We love to make a difference, and hearing what an impact we have had in our settings makes our day!
Following a series of training sessions delivered at South and City College in Birmingham, this is what staff had to say:
“Nicki set the standard of training from the initial Introductory session.
There was a high uptake of staff wanting to participate in the individual topics. Nicki held the audience well and her knowledge and delivery of Speech, Language and Communication was excellent.
This training has been invaluable to the team and I have no doubt the skills they have learned will be transferred into the classroom effectively support our learners.”
— Charlene H, Lead Learning Assessment & Support Co-ordinator
“The training was effective, and will be useful for all students, not just those identified with Speech and Language difficulties. The delivery was efficient and information easy to retain. Nicki was really approachable.”
— Niki G
“I found it to be informative, practical and pedagogical.”
— Mohammed H
“I found the training incredibly useful and thought provoking especially in terms of introducing us to strategies which will no doubt prove useful and beneficial to our learners. It has opened up another avenue of exploration in terms of developing and supporting our SEND learners.”

“Working with Soundswell has been a highly valuable experience for our school. Our Speech and Language Therapist, Emma, provides exceptional support to the children while also offering clear and practical guidance for teachers in the classroom. Communication with Soundswell is consistently excellent—they are responsive, approachable and always willing to offer support whenever needed.”

“Kings Norton Nursery School and Highters Heath Nursery School have worked with Soundswell for a number of years.
Having a Soundswell Speech and Language Therapist working in our schools has been beneficial for our staff, children and parents.
They have supported us to upskill our staff team, offered support and workshops to parents and completed assessments of our children along with recommending strategies for support.
We would highly recommend Soundswell!”

“Soundswell’s therapist was great. She was able to adapt the training to meet the needs of everyone in the room, from those with some Wellcomm experience, all the way down to those who had never seen Wellcomm before.
Everybody benefitted and left the training feeling more confident and empowered to support our young people. It was great training and I’d highly recommend it!”

“The time I spent with Nicki was amazing. I went out feeling positive and revived. I kept saying word webs to myself in case I forgot!
Thank you so much and look forward to seeing you again.”

“I would say the impact has been life changing!”
“I have been lucky enough to see first -hand the difference Speech and Language interventions have made to the children here at Court Farm. Not only has their speech improved but their confidence and understanding of the world around them has grown immensely”.
Rachael Hulley, teaching assistant working with children with speech, language and communication difficulties.
“I wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for the support our daughter has received since joining Captain Webb Primary (Telford)”
“Today we had a really helpful session with the Speech and Language Therapist and the TA who are currently working with her.
We understand this is a service the school buys in, and both Mum and I were genuinely impressed with the approach, structure, and care being given to help her progress.”

” Your experience and expertise has been invaluable to the school. “
“Gill thank you so much for this (end of year impact report) – and all of your work this year. Your experience and expertise has been invaluable to the school. You have upskilled our teaching staff, supported Julie, built stronger links with parents and, most importantly, had a significant and demonstrable impact on the children in our community. As a very busy SENCo that gets pulled from pillar to post, I have to say how wonderful it has been to have has you working with us.”
Mr Pilling, Assistant head and SENDCo
“I have been so impressed with Kate’s work with our children in Early Years“
“She worked with me to identify and target key children with speech and language concerns, and has worked incredibly hard to support them during interventions, as well as giving class teachers clear, achievable targets for the children. This has meant children with speech concerns have made rapid and sustained progress. She has provided support, advice and training at a consistently high level, and ultimately, she has made my job a lot easier! So, thank you Kate for your help this year. You are an asset to Soundswell!
Liam Murphy-Sheridan. Early Years Lead
“Invaluable support “
“Gill from Soundswell helped our team understand how to use Aided Language Displays (ALDs) with our complex hub children, by modelling the approach in real teaching situations. Seeing the strategy in practice really demystified it and gave staff the confidence to start using it themselves. Her observations, feedback and flexible support – from staff training to parent workshops and pupil assessments – have been invaluable”
Hayley Stokes -teacher
“I just wanted to email to say how beneficial it has been to our children within our hubs having Rebekah’s support in place. I feel like it has helped us grow our provision across the school for other children too.”
Assistant Headteacher, Yew Tree Community School

“We really commend Nicki and the rapport she has established with our staff and children.
She is highly regarded and her opinions, advice, support, approachability are strongly valued. Nicki understands our school, our staff, our children and our ethos. We have adopted many new practices thanks to Nicki (Wellcomm, SSIPA, Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction) and we have seamlessly established collaborative working with the NHS Locality SALT (Balanced System) so even more of our pupils get the input and support they need.“
Helen Bray, SENDCo Cofton primary school.

“I just wanted to reach out and share how much we really do appreciate all of the support, hard work and dedication that your therapist gives us, consistently.”
Her knowledge and expertise is out of this world. She is a credit to your service and I genuinely think we would struggle without this specialist support.

“Really pleased with the level of detail in the reports.”
The audit reports have been shared with staff, and I just wanted to feedback that the leadership team at
Kings were really pleased with the level of detail in the reports. This was shared with the regional Ark
EYFS lead who came into visit our setting this week. The audits have really helped to have a clear
focus and starting point to drive further improvements in the early years.

“Rebekah has been amazing with Joseph developing a lovely bond with him which has helped him with communicating his needs and following what is set out in his EHCP. He looks forward to his weekly visits from her and she is amazing in her parental relationships when sharing information.”

“It was really so informative today. The drawing exercise made me realise just how much J goes through daily and the many challenges she faces being non verbal..”
Had a blast at todays workshop.
First of all, I was so impressed that they knew my child by name. She had obviously made an impression but also that they could tell me about her and her needs considering they see so many other children within the school.
Having a little one to one at the end of the meeting was lovely. They explained her level and what the next steps they planned to take with her.
Overall it was a lovely workshop and very knowledgeable. I’m excited to go again next week to make the resources.
