About Jordanne
Jordanne is a Speech and Language Therapist based in South Staffordshire. She has a particular interest in working with older children and teenagers with a range of communication needs.
Interests & Specialisms
Early in her career, Jordanne discovered a passion for supporting young people, especially those at risk of school exclusion or involved in the Youth Justice System. Since then, much of her work has focused on helping adolescents and young adults understand and express themselves more confidently.
Within Soundswell, Jordanne has worked across a range of Birmingham settings. She especially enjoys sharing her knowledge around Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Learning Disabilities, and the crucial link between communication and behaviour.
Alongside her clinical role, Jordanne also works with the Ministry of Justice as an Intermediary, supporting young people with communication needs to take part effectively in police interviews and court processes.
Jordanne is passionate about neuro–affirmative practice and is committed to adapting environments to support the child, rather than expecting the child to adapt to the environment. She places high value on self-advocacy, working collaboratively with young people to help them understand their strengths, their needs, and their communication identity – empowering them to shape their own futures.
