About Emily

Emily works in mainstream settings and specialist hub provisions with primary school aged children in Birmingham and Staffordshire.

Interests & Specialisms

Emily received her M.Med.Sci in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Sheffield in 2000.  

She worked for the NHS in Sandwell for over a decade, including several years specialising in supporting pre-school SEN children with complex needs. 

Emily is a qualified Makaton tutor.  

Spending most of her time working in mainstream schools with a wide variety of speech and language needs, Emily also supports schools to establish Hub provisions for children with autism. Training and coaching school staff is a vital part of her role.  

She is passionate about allowing every child to communicate effectively and considers it a privilege to be part of that journey
