Empowering Schools to Support Speech, Language and Communication Needs

Our approach is led by our over-arching aim to equip staff in schools and educational settings to confidently take ownership of identifying and supporting children and young people with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

We encourage our schools and settings to make the most of the services we provide, but there is no ‘take it or leave it’ mentality. We have a menu of options and we love the challenge of developing new bespoke approaches with well tested and results-driven strategies.

Our Speech and Language Therapists work to the pyramid model, offering a range of both prevention & intervention strategies and approaches at universal, targeted and specialist levels. The tools we use may differ according to type and severity of SLCN – but our approach is similar.

Working in partnership with schools

 The Soundwell team strongly believes in developing partnerships with schools. Feedback shows that SENDCos and senior leaders at the settings we work with, really value the regular contact they have with Jo and Diana. Welcoming the opportunity to review the service they receive and plan new developments.
