Every year Soundswell aims to ‘give back’ in some shape or form. In some years there have been national or international events or crises which touch us all in different ways and become the focus of need. This year we are supporting a cause closer to home.
We work with children, we know the challenges they can face and also how hard it can be for parents to encourage exercise when the lure of tablets and televisions is so strong.
It seems as though, in recent weeks, that the whole country has taken an interest in the Euros!
The team have only just come together. They are all under the age of 7 and are learning much more than football skills. These young players are a mine of information about clubs and statistics and players and countries and flags… maths and language and geography skills all come to the fore
Just as good – if not better, they are learning the importance of thinking more widely than themselves: that always winning isn’t what happens in life. They are learning the importance of working together for a common goal (no pun intended) and what a good feeling it can be to be part of a group.
