Soundswell bids a fond farewell to Headteacher at Stanville Primary School
Retiring Headteacher at Stanville Primary School with Soundswell Founders

Stanville Primary School Headteacher, Andy Runacres, with Soundswell Directors Diana McQueen and Jo Gregory

At the end of this week, Stanville Primary School Headteacher, Andy Runacres, will be stepping down after an incredible 27 years of service. While not quite “man and boy,” it’s certainly close – and marks the end of a significant chapter for the school community.

A difficult but meaningful decision

Andy shared with us that retiring has not been an easy decision – there’s always more to do and things to see through – but that will always be the case. However, this moment also brings exciting new opportunities. With his wife retiring at Christmas and the arrival of their first grandchild, the timing feels right to embrace a new phase of life.

Soundswell’s Partnership with Stanville Primary

Soundswell has proudly worked with Stanville Primary School for over eight years, providing speech and language support services. Throughout this time, the school has been a fantastic place to work – home to a team of friendly, welcoming staff who are deeply committed to supporting children’s communication and development.

Their dedication to speech and language development in the school continues to make a meaningful difference to the pupils in their care.

Looking Ahead: A New Chapter

While Andy Runacres will be greatly missed, we are excited for him as he moves into this next stage of life.

We’re also looking forward to meeting Debbie Sullivan, who will be joining as the new Headteacher this Summer term, and continuing our strong partnership with Stanville Primary School.

Best Wishes from Soundswell

Everyone at Soundswell would like to wish Andy all the very best for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
